The system supports typical search criteria based on classification attributes such as document type, development program, and document owner. In addition, Acseni offers the capability to automatically assign document item numbers. Item numbers can either be strictly sequential or may be based on administrator-defined part categories. Provided that the item number scheme is "formally regular" (that is, it has well-defined category-based prefix, sequentially-assigned root, and constant suffix), item numbers can be assigned based on these category rules. Non-categorized records may be assigned from a generic "bin".
