Backup is available through standard file services provided by the network installation. Acseni enjoys an efficient table design and variable-length field storage. Therefore, a fully operational database with about 15,000 masters will typically consume less than 20MB of server space (exclusive of library files). An incremental back-up against library directories is usually sufficient.
As a workgroup-oriented PDM, the program supports only single-server installations. Remote sites can access data, provided that such sites view the server as a LAN drive. A high-speed link is recommended, as all data filtering is done at the workstation side of the connection.
The standard program installation offers administrators two optimizations: Tune/Repair and Compact. Both are icon-based programs that provide automatic table re-indexing, optional data relation repair, and table compacting. The database engine optimizes queries based on statistics derived from these operations.

Printing, Plotting, and Output Management
The system sends reports to the default Windows print device specified by the user. Users may re-direct printing to any installed print device by using the standard Windows printer control panel.
